My all time favorite type of food is Mexican food. Seriously I could eat Mexican food breakfast, lunch, and dinner and never get tired of it.
Recently I was told about this relatively new restaurant in St. Augustine that promotes itself as genuine Mexican street food. Now I won't lie and say that I've been to Mexico and tasted what genuine Mexican street food taste like, but I'm always open to try something new when it comes to Mexican food. So naturally I decided that I had to try this place out.

Taco Fries. So the Irish in me jumped for joy when I read the words Taco Fries, because the only thing that can make Mexican food better in my opinion is a good ole potato. This dish is one of the most tasty combinations of items I've ever had. It's a base of Fried Potatoes (french fries), covered in white queso, topped with tender marinated flank steak (seriously this steak is TENDER!) and then topped with sour cream, guacamole, and pico. I say this is a must for when you visit!
The Sope. This was a nice treat, however I doubt I would order it again because it just wasn't my style. It's basically a thick corn patty with refried beans, flank steak, lettuce, tomatoes, sour cream, and cheese. It was very tasty and had a lot of flavor, but it just wasn't for me.
The Gringo Skirt Steak Taco. Just your basic taco with flank steak, lettuce, tomatoes, queso fresco, and sour cream. Full of flavor and all the ingredients tasted extremely fresh.
Enchiladas Supreme. Your basic enchiladas but extremely fresh tasting. If you like enchiladas you will love the enchiladas here. Nothing too special because it's honestly just a basic dish, but it is a solid go to dish that I could get again and again.
Chimichanga. This is a chimichanga that even Deadpool would approve of! This beautiful concoction is a flour tortilla filled with beef or chicken, fried, and then covered with red sauce, queso, lettuce, tomatoes, and sour cream and then served with rice and beans. This is one of the best chimichangas I've ever had. It was bursting with flavor and extremely fresh tasting.
Alicia approved of their margaritas as well :)
Conclusion: This Mexican street food restaurant stands out from the normal Mexican restaurants we are all used to with their fresh ingredients and street food style. For this reason I have and will continue to go back every chance I get.
